The Reading Mind Of TAY

Throughout the years of 6th&7th grade I hated reading I always made up an excuse so i wouldn't have to read. Then in the middle of the school year of 7th grade my humanities teacher recommended a book to the class called "BORN BLUE". It was 1 of the best books of my life I just couldn't put it down I guess the reason why I didn't like reading was because I didn't know how to pick out a good book. Now back to the important topic at hand this book BORN BLUE is About is little girl named Janie who was mistreated by her mother and was placed in all of these foster homes. So the only thing that kept her going was music Janie loved to sing so she did and ran away from her foster home she got involved in the wrong crowd and started doing things that she never done before and wounded up pregnant and found her mother a couple a years later and to also learn that her mother is dying of aids.
This book is very sensative and deep I also know a girl who is 17 and has a baby and a mother dying of cancer. My reading today in 8th grade is good im able to pick out a good book that catches my eye and deals with social and teen issue.
People ask me why don't I read other genre books and I try to read them but I don't connect to them as much as I do the social and teen issue books. I just enjoy reading those kinds of books because lots of the struggles in the books that I read I know people in the outside world that can relate to the problem.
I plan to take all of the things that i've learned from 6th grade until now into high school with me and to learn more things from high school and take that with me into college. I also plan to become a better person and start reading other genre books.
